Performs digital mammogram procedures on screening and diagnostic patients. Assists with technical/clerical functions in related areas including quality assurance and control. #LI-LJ1
Specializes in production of screening and diagnostic mammography for detection of breast tumors. Prepares patients for mammographic exam and explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation. Obtains appropriate mammograms by using correct techniques, positioning and processing of film. Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff. Completes related paperwork and obtains interpretation by radiologist. Performs QC, call-backs and other duties as assigned.
Must be graduate of AMA approved school with ARRT, mammography certification. One year experience preferred and must be knowledgeable of MQSA criteria. Exceptional interpersonal skills with both patients and physicians. DXA experience preferred, but not required.
